Bespoke Learning Programmes Business Critical Systems
Your Challenge:
Many organisations utilise customised or bespoke software applications to run their day-to-day operations; these could be billing systems, customer relationship management systems, document managements systems etc. Because these systems are designed and developed specifically to reflect the organisations' own business processes there is invariably little or no training courseware available off the shelf.
Training a large workforce to learn a new business application or an upgrade to an existing application is a challenging task; but vital if the organisation is going to secure return on their investment in the new system. There are different job roles to consider, varied levels of existing competence and personal learning preferences all to be accommodated against a backcloth of tight deadlines, changing priorities and the availability of people and resources.
Premier is expert at designing, delivering and managing training solutions for bespoke business application migration projects. In fact we have been extensively involved from 2005 in the delivering training for the largest application roll-out so far this century; the new National Health Service, Care Records software system
Premier's Solution:
Premier conducts an initial consultation "Diagnosis"
phase to ensure that we have all the relevant information required to create
the ideal bespoke course design for our client's new systems.
This phase consists of evaluating existing
documentation and discussing the key requirements with client users and subject
matter experts (normally the project implementation team) to establish processes and policies pertaining to the use
of the system(s). These discussions enable us to extract the relevant
knowledge to design relevant course content.
The progression of the project from Diagnosis
and Design through Development, Delivery and finally Review provides a well
structured approach that is managed in accordance with PRINCE2 project management
methodologies.
In the "Development" phase we utilise
powerful software simulation technologies to capture all of the routines in the
client's application that will be taught across all job-roles. These simulation
files can then be used to create SCORM compliant e-learning courses, online
performance-based tests of software user competence, courseware user manuals for
classroom based training and quick reference guides. From this single capture
we develop all the training content that may be needed for delivery using the
various delivery modes.
Following the development of bespoke
course content and courseware for our clients, we conduct a series of pilot
courses as a means for evaluation. The feedback from the pilot is analysed and
alterations agreed with the project team in order to refine all future courses
any required revisions. With this in place our courses are successfully delivered
as required.
Following each training event each
delegate is required as a minimum to complete a course evaluation form. These
forms are reviewed individually for quality, then collated to provide
statistical reporting on overall satisfaction, user confidence, gaps in
understanding and more.. If required Premier can provide test scenarios for
delegates and scores to determine user readiness, this can be very important if
high-risk tasks are being carried out in the new system and/or activities that
are subject to regulatory compliance.
Premier's proven approach enables us to provide well structured, high quality content-rich, bespoke training programmes that are flexible enough to accommodate and motivate the client's entire workforce, but at the same time addressing hard operational objectives.
